Our story

This website was created by the Redlands Charitable Resources Coalition, Inc. (RCRC).  It is intended to provide all of the available resources to assist at-risk and homeless individuals and families in Redlands.   The information on this website also appears in our Guide to Local Resources.published semi-annually and available at the office of the City Clerk, 35 Cajon St., Redlands, CA 92373  Please feel free to email additions or corrections to rcrchelp@yahoo.com.

Angels' Closet Charities 

Redlands East Valley High School (Portable Classrooms, "T" Wing). Off King Street, between Colton Ave. and Citrus Ave.

Students are referred by School Counselors, Children’s Fund, Department of Children & Family Services, Academic Case Carrier Program, and others per approval.

The organization is a boutique setting that provides school clothing (including shoes, socks, underwear), formal attire, and other necessities to foster, at-risk, in need, and homeless middle school and high school students.  All at no cost.

  • Cool 4 School –free shopping trip, fall & spring, to Kohl’s for clothing and shoes for K-5th

  • Teens-Be-Seen /Urgent Essentials (portable food) – gift card for clothing and shoes at Target for 6th-12th Available in Redlands School District.

Adult Literacy: Provides free, one-on-one, professional, and confidential tutoring in reading and writing for the following learners:

  • Adults 18 years of age or older
  • Youth 16 or 17 years who are not currently enrolled in high school.

For one-on-one services, adults must make a commitment to meet weekly with their tutor for six months. Also, must understand and speak English to work with tutors.  Meetings occur at the library or approved sites in the Redlands community.

Conversation Corner: Interact with other adults practicing English conversation. Held at approved site in Redlands.

Micah House

Faith-based organization that partners with parents to help their children with homework, specialized literacy training, and extracurricular activities for students in 1st – 12th grades. Snacks are provided. Accept new students in the fall and spring. Must

Housing Advocacy Program: May assist with first month’s rent, move in deposit, or emergency rental assistance.  Applicants must have a continuing income and be able to afford housing with rent.  All potential applicants must complete an online questionnaire at www.redlandsfamilyservice.org on the first Monday of the month.  If you are homeless, please also register with 211.

Rental must be in the service areas listed on the website.

Steps 4 Life Community Services

Transitional housing: 12–24-month transitional living program for unhoused men. A therapeutic community that helps residents develop personal, social, and emotional skills required to live a healthy and productive life. Residents participate in programs such as AA/NA, group therapy, individual counseling, and access to health/mental health support. Residents also pursue educational/vocational goals to prepare for independent living.

Next Step Reentry Program – Probation & Parole

Shelter/Transitional Housing/Rental Assistance: Next Step is an empowerment program that helps to develop a healthy mindset for reentry into society for women on probation and parole.  Services provided include housing, case management, counseling, financial assistance, and health navigation.  These services are provided free to the client for up to one year.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING/DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES

Batter’s Intervention Program provides group training to felony probationers to eliminate domestic violence offender recidivism and always provide for victims’ safety.  52-week educational classes provided by San Bernardino County Dept. of Probation.
